Kavilumpara village was a part of pazhassi empire and then it was known as Amblad Desom.This region was under the control of Kavilumpara Mooppil Sthani also known as Kavilumpara Thangal.The land is now acts as the Gate way to wayanad and it is a part of western ghats .The road to wayanad is through Kuttyadi Churam which comprise 12 hair pin bends..The second largest peak in KKerala ie Nadapuram mudi is situated in this village. About 25 percent of the land in the village is Reserve Forest.Chathangottunada mini Hydro electrical project situated in this village.
