Chengannur village office started its functioning about 50 years ago in a rented building at Mundancavu Earlier the name of village was Vadakkekkara Now the village office has its own building inaugurated in a function by the then revenue minister Sri P J Joseph and presided over by the then MLA Sri Ramachandran pillai on30 07 1986
