Chettuva kotta - William Fort alias Tipu Sultan Fort is an remarkable historical monument located at Chettuva, a small village in Engandiyoor Panchayath, Thrissur District of Kerala. The Chettuva Fort foundation was constructed by the Dutch in 1714. Later this fort was captured by the ruler of Mysore, Tipu Sultan and was demolished partially and made some amendments to the fort. It is believed that an underground tunnel was created by the Mysore Tiger for his traveling to other forts. The Chettuva fort spread across 5 acres of land and now in a demolished state. Kerala Government has announced several projects to reinstate this fort to become a tourism destination in the map of Kerala Tourism.
Engandiyur Village is located in the Thalikulam block of Chavakkad taluk, Thrissur district in the Indian state of Kerala.This village shares borders with Orumanayur village on the north side and Vadanapilly village on the south side. On the west side is Vadanappally village,Kadappuram village and to the east, Canoli Canal.
