Kottappally is a village in Kozhikode district in the state of Kerala, India.[1] The village is located 10 kilometres east of Vatakara and 10 kilometres west of Kuttiady. Villiappally (5 km) and Thiruvallur (4 km) are the other nearby villages. The Mahe-Vatakara Canal is passing through this way and it is said that the work will finish almost about 2015. The place is in Thiruvallur Panchayath.

Kottappally is a Census Town city situated in Vadakara taluka of Kozhikode district. As per the Population Census 2011, there are total 4,715 families residing in the Kottappally city. The total population of Kottappally is 21,169 out of which 9,961 are males and 11,208 are females thus the Average Sex Ratio of Kottappally is 1,125.
