About Village

Edakochi village formed by the division of Palluruthy village is bounded on the east and south by the Vembanttu Kayal. On the west, Perumbadappu road from Perumbadappu to Kumbalangi vazhi, then the PWD road from Kumbalangi vazhi to Palluruthy veli and on the north, Panchayat Raj road and Arppana road up to Kadebhagam Park and then Vembanattu Kayal. The village has a total area of ​​80,660.63 ares. According to village records, there are 19,843.55 ares of Purayidam, 17,222.87 ares of Nilam and 43,594.21 ares of Puramboke land. Village Office is situated in government land of 3.40 Ares (8.400 cents) in Survey Nos. 971, 972/2 which is approximately 100 m south of the Edakochi Pashnithodu bridge bus stop.

Edakochi Village comprises a part of the area of Cochin Corporation. No Panchayath or Municipal area in this village. At present Cochin Corporation divisions 14, 15, 16 and 17 fall entirely and division 13 partialy under the jurisdiction of Edakochi Village. The village is completely under Tripunithura LA Constituency. The village has 139 to 162 polling booths in Tripunithura LA Constituency. As Kanayannur Tahsildar is the Electoral Registration Officer of Thripunithura Constituency, Kanayannur Tahsildar should be approached for Legislative assembly and Lok Sabha election purposes. And Kochi Tahsildar for all other purposes.
