Cheemeni village is one of the southern villages of Kasaragod district, bordering with Kannur district.The name Cheemeni arised from " Srre Meni" (Body of God) Cheemeni is a greenish village, with Cashew and Rubber Plantations.Cheemeni is one among the 4 villages in Kayyur -Cheemeni Grama Panchayat


As per 2011 census, 8283 people living in this village. Out of which, 3908 male and 4375 female.


Cheemeni village situates 9 KM east to NH 66 from Cheruvathur.Nearest Railway Station is Cheruvathur on Mangalore-Palakkad Line. Nearest Air Port are Kannur and Mangalore. Cheemeni village s located in Kayyur-Cheemeni Grama Panchayat ,under Hosdurg Taluk and Kasaragod District. Falls under Trikaripur Assembly Constituency and Kasaragod Parliament Constituency. Important town in the village is Cheemeni Town.


Majority of the people depending on agriculture for their livelyhood.


Sacred Groves have an important role in maintaining the ecology of a society. They remain protected owing to myth and belief. Sacred Groves at Naalukunnu and at Ariyittapaara are the important example of that kind in Cheemeni village. Thejaswini river on the northern part of the village has a prominent role in the life of the people.
