Kooveri village office is situated in Chapparappadavu Grama panchayath near Chapparappadavu Bridge. Located 14 Km northeast of Taliparamba town and 35 km away from district headquarter Kannur. People commonly called this place as Village corner -Chapparapadavu. Kooveri Village includes three desham which are koovery, Chapparapadavu and Padappengad.Major places belongs to this Village are Kooverikkadavu, Kottakkanam, Therandy, Elamberam, Chapparapadavu, Edakkom, Nadukani, padappengad, Madakkad, Mangara, perumalabad,Oduvallithattu. Alathattu and Madhamthattu. Chapparappadavu was one of the major exporting town in ancient kerala. Especially the products like Rubber Pepper, coconut and several vegetables. The places named Edakkom Ammamkulam Oduvallithattu Chanokkund are major centers of Malabar migration. Kooveri village is a part of Taliparamba legislative assembly.

Kooveri is a large village located in Taliparamba Taluka of Kannur district, Kerala with total 4201 families residing. The Kooveri village has population of 19033 of which 9111 are males while 9922 are females as per Population Census 2011. In Kooveri village population of children with age 0-6 is 2155 which makes up 11.32 % of total population of village. Average Sex Ratio of Kooveri village is 1089 which is higher than Kerala state average of 1084. Child Sex Ratio for the Kooveri as per census is 940, lower than Kerala average of 964. Kooveri village has lower literacy rate compared to Kerala. In 2011, literacy rate of Kooveri village was 91.73 % compared to 94.00 % of Kerala. In Kooveri Male literacy stands at 95.94 % while female literacy rate was 87.94 %.
Geography
The total geographical area of village is 3832 hectares. Major parts of village are hilltops near westernghat. Famous kuppam river flows through the village and passing mangara, Chapparapadavu, Kooveri, kottakkanam, Therandy, poobamcode. Chapparapadavu town is situated on the banks of Kuppam river.Both Wet and dry lands can be seen here. Nadukani Elamberam para is major dry lands.. Laterite soil can be seen there. Paddy fields with aluvial soil can be seen at kooveri Therandy and kottakkanam

Hindu, Muslim, Christian communities lives here in religious harmony. Most of the people in kooveri village is engaged in Agriculture and business. Several people in Chapparapadavu and Edakkom are tried to go abroad for better job. So it influences the socio economic background of the people in village. Most of the families in the village living with rubber exports. Here are the people who uphold high socio -cultural -political vakues. Industrial area and Kinfra park was also situated in the village at Nadukani. Chapparapadavu higherscondary school is the only HSS situated in the kooveri village.

Major destinations are Oduvallithattu view point , kooveri hanging bridge , Someswari temple Padappengad and Narimada - Naadukani oduvallithattu view point ------situated at Taliparamba -oduvallithattu -Alakkode state highway.The place offers a magnificent view of the hills. And an early morning drive here is too good because of the fog and the wonderful experience of driving by watching the spectacular view. The place is easily accessible too. Someshwari temple ----An ancient temple located in Padappengad. Various Theyyam like Karim Chamundi, Mangala Chamundi, Parava, Vannathi Pothi, Paraali Amma are performed here. The temple is located in a silent place. There is an old pond located at the front of the temple.
