Chathurangapara is one of the 18 villages under Udumbanchola Taluk in Idukki District.

Demography

60% constitute Tamil Speaking people. Among Malayalam Speaking people huge majority fall within christian Syrian catholic. Muslims are almost nil. Among Malayalam Speaking Hindus, Ezhavas took the major share. Other Malayalam Speaking Hindus are nominal. the ancient ethnic group Mannan community constitute only 2% of the total population. Total population is below 10000

Geography

It has a hilly terrain with a cool climate and is situated 18 km away from sub-district headquarter Nedumkandam and 57 km away from district headquarter Painavu and mostly surrounded by Cardamom Plantation . Chathurangappara Mettu, Kattuthy mettu, Mankuthimettu are the main hill tops. Although there are few streams of water, absence of river and rivulets are the peculiarity of this village.
