Parappanangadi village is in Trurangadi Taluk, Malappuram district of North Kerala. Parappanangadi was one of the important coastal towns under the Zamorin rule and was one of the major trade centres of the medieval Kerala coast. Arab traders had the monopoly of trade until 15th century CE. In 1573, the Portuguese seems to have burnt this town. Indhu lekha, the first Malayalam novel by O Chanthu Menon was written when he was working here.
