Mannamkandam village, which was formed on the 1st November 1956, furnishes the western boundary of Devikulam Taluk. “Mannamkandam”derived its name from the words ‘mannan and kandam, which means wet land belongs to the ‘mannan’ people, a prominent tribe present in this area from the distant past. Earlier in the pre independence era, this village formed part of Kuttamangalam Pakuthi (Village) of Moovattupuzha Taluk. The village office is located at Adimaly, a small town, hailed as the Gateway to Munnar, in the NH 85.
